A very nice home with views over the river!

Ref:  4881S

Price:  184.000€  (agency fee included)

What a surprise this property was to visit.  At first I was a little apprehensive as we drew up in front.  It was a grey day (ready for snow) which didn't help and I thought it was going to be a pretty standard house.

However, what a nice surprise!  Ok the decor is not my cup of tea at all....  but space wise and with certain elements, such as direct access to/views from the terrace over the river Dordogne makes this a very attractive property indeed!

The house is in (sort of) two appartments at the moment.  I say sort of because there has been no actual split inside.  There are two entrances and it is arranged as two i.e there are kitchens and lounges on each level but it has not been fully closed inside.  So you can easily just keep it as one house.

In total there is 150m2 of habitable space.  4 bedrooms, 2 kitchens (upstairs a kitchenette)  2 bathrooms, 2 lounges, laundry room, attic space.   Outside there is a nicely kept garden of 1060m2.  Huge garages of 27m2 and 31m2 (could be a workshop!)

What I really loved was the terraced area at the rear of the property.......  oooooh I could imagine having lunch or a glass of wine sitting there, overlooking the river...  A very nice built in BBQ and outside kitchen is on the terrace also - so no need to be inside in the kitchen!!   The property benefits from a strip of land with direct access to the river!

At the front of the property there is a very nice conservatory that you can open up - another usefull space!

So all that is needed is imagination to see how this property could be...  and then get out the paintbrush!!

The village Creysse....

Another of our beautiful local villages....

Creysse is the quintessential French village, charming and quaint. Nestled in the Midi-Pyrenees Region on the right bank of the Dordogne River, Creysse is not far from the well-known villages of Rocamadour, Martel, Padirac, Carennac, and Turenne and a 20 minute drive from Souillac.

This area truly embodies the ideals of French country living. It is often thought of as "a preserved land where 'joie de vivre' and friendliness still exist," and people truly take the time to enjoy life's simple pleasures.

Whether you are interested in local cuisine, art, wine, architecture, history, or outdoor activities, this area of France provides a variety of rich offerings that suit every traveler's tastes and interests. For this reason, French and foreign travelers alike return to this special place to enjoy its natural resources in peace and tranquility.
Creysse is one of favourite villages for us. Every year we find our favourite spot down by the river and take an inflatable boat to ride on the gentle current. The children love it as do friends and familly. Also, every year, although there are only 300 or so inhabitants in the village, they have the village fete which goes on over three days and people come from far and wide. On the last night, the Sunday, they have an incredible firework display from the old chateau.
Then all returns to peace and quiet as if it never happened!

Back to work!

After having a short trip back to the UK for the New Year....  here I am back at work.  We had a lovely time with friends even if we have over eaten!

We decided to take the ferry rather than the Eurotunnel - as we all know, there had been huge delays over the Xmas period.

En-route on the journey home, we encountered more snow passing through Limoges.  I was hoping for a good sprinkling at home in Souillac but alas, there was not enough to get the sledge out again!

We've been on 'caravan' this afternoon.  Where we all go to see the new properties that have come onto the market this week.  One was a real surprise.  Now after being in this job for sometime you would think I would be a little more open-minded!  'Nothing special' I thought as we arrived at the property and my eyes cast a quick first glance over the exterior.  But in actual fact it was rather a nice property....  I will be posting the details in a day or two, so you will have to wait to see it!

See you back soon!
