Barns in good condition are a more and more difficult to find these days. This one is actually in very good order. Beautiful stone walls that are mostly straight!! This barn was part of a working farm and does have other very large hangers and such like added to the back, which could be removed or incorporated into the project.
This barn has two other houses nearby and that is it! Oh, the only other neighbours are the ducks in the little pond opposite!
Situated in a peaceful location but only five minutes from the main route between Souillac and the very chic town of Brive.
The barn itself is huge, measuring 171m2 plus the little part on the end where you can park your car/tractor! The central door is massive and will make a very impressive entrance. There are plenty of other openings that are in place so will not mean too much messing around with the stonework. The interior is of course, still barn like with plenty of straw and the stalls for the cows! But this really is a blank canvas to create a dream home. I can envisage a gallery stairwell with very large rooms. Quite often barn conversions have small rooms, particularly on the first floor where space is limited due to the roof beams etc. However, because of the width of this barn, large rooms can be created. Lots of the existing materials could be used. I can imagine keeping lots of the interior stonework and magnificent beams exposed.
3000m2 of land!
I look forward to hearing from you!
